The Forum Transregional Studies contributes to the societal transfer of knowledge in the field of transregional research by working with other institutions to formulate offers of discussion on important scientific or socio-political topics and questions for the academic and general public.
Twice a year the Forum Transregionale Studien and the Max Weber Stiftung—Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland organize the “WeberWorldCafé”—a forum for dialogue between students, young scholars and young professionals from different world regions, who, in small groups, exchange and collect knowledge and ideas on a transregional topic during an open discourse and in a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a coffee house. This method will initiate a creative process: Several roundtables, which build upon each another, will promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas of the participants and lead to new findings.
The blog “WeberWorldCafé. Transregional Dialogue between Science, Society and Culture” accompanies this series of events.
