Summer and Winter Academies 2014

The Forum and the Max Weber Foundation were organizing two summer academies and a winter academy, that were documented and accompanied for the first time by blogs.

The EUME Summer Academy “Conflict and Mobility in the City: Youth, Urban Space and Social Transformations” was held at the École de Gouvernance et d'Économie in Rabat from 25 August to 5 September. It brought together young researchers from Europe, the Middle East and North America for two weeks to discuss the meaning and function of cities: the city as a place of both promise and social conflict, as a space of mobility but also obstacles such as “gated communities.”
