With the text “What is it like to become a likeness of oneself? Gestures of Light, Motion, and Mind at the Surfaces of Representation”, the Forum has initiated a new publication series of scholarly essays. In the first essay, Sonam Kachru (Zukunftsphilologie Fellow 2013/2014) addresses the interplay between text and picture in Sanskrit poetry.

Essays of the Forum Transregionale Studien
The second essay by art historian Clare Davies (Irmgard Coninx Prize Fellow 2014/2015) describes the genesis of “Arab art” in the context of transregional (Africa-Asia-Latin America) networks and affinities from the 1950s to the 1970s.
