TRAFO – Blog for Transregional Research

Der TRAFO-Blog dient als Diskussions- und Informationsplattform für Wissenschaftler:innen, die sich für transregionale Forschung interessieren. Auf dem TRAFO-Blog werden Forschungsergebnisse und Beiträge aus dem Bereich der transregionalen Studien und der Area Studies zugänglich gemacht. Wir veröffentlichen Ausschreibungen sowie Interviews mit Wissenschaftler:innen und kündigen Veranstaltungen an, die disziplinäre und regionalwissenschaftliche Forschung verbinden. Darüber hinaus bildet der TRAFO-Blog die gemeinsamen Aktivitäten des Forum Transregionale Studien und der Max Weber Stiftung ab.

TRAFO ist hierbei ein Akronym für »Transregionale Forschung«, bietet aber auch eine weitere Bedeutung an: »Trafo« im Sinne eines Umspannwerks, das auf die Übersetzungsleistung und Maklerfunktion des Forum Transregionale Studien, der Max Weber Stiftung und des Kooperationspartners CrossArea e.V. anspielt. Der Blog wurde im Rahmen des Verbundprojekts »Transregionale Forschung« aufgebaut, das von 2013 bis 2020 eine Förderung des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) erhielt.
