Peter Ott

Peter Ott studied at the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg. He was a founding member of the Abbildungszentrum (depiction center) in Hamburg, has worked in television, and has shot and produced his own documentary and feature films. Since 2007, he has been a Professor for Film & Video at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart.
In the framework of Global Prayers, Peter Ott uses cinematic means to ask about a specific Shiite concept of history and the theological definition of the transition between divine and human realities. The movie was shot in Mleeta in southern Lebanon and in Haret Hreik in South Beirut.

1997 Die Spur (feature film), 2004 Jona (Hamburg) (documentary film), 2007 Hölle Hamburg (feature film, with Ted Gaier), 2010 Gesicht und Antwort (documentary film). Since 2010, he has also worked in theater.
