Life Circumstances and Identities: Changes in the Families of Ukrainian Refugees during the War 2022-2024

The adult female family members of Ukrainian refugee families (mothers) were interviewed in April-May 2024 to describe their life changed conditions, family roles and identities during the period of wartime in Ukraine in 2022-2024. They are hosted in Germany, Poland, Spain and the UK. Some obvious tendencies are traced in their responses.

Olga Sovenko is an Honorary Lecturer (since 2022) and Research Fellow (since 2023) at the School of Art, Media and American Studies (Arts and Humanities Faculty, University of East Anglia, Norwich) and a Lecturer in Sociology - Serzh Lyfar Kyiv Municipal Academy of Dance (2009-2024). She holds a PhD in Sociology (2015), and is a researcher, focused on applied sociological methods, monitoring and evaluation specialist, and the Ambassador of The Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies (Kyiv). Her main scientific interests include: media studies, gender studies, content-analysis, monitoring and evaluation, social science methodology, applied studies, management of social science research, media information literacy, media literacy education, civil society institutions.
