Organization
The Forum Transregional Studies was founded in fall 2009 as a registered association based in Berlin. Members are the heads of a number of mostly Berlin-based universities, research institutions and associations. Hermann Parzinger, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, is Chairman of the Members' Assembly.
The Forum is directed by an Executive Board consisting of Andreas Eckert (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), Marianne Braig (Freie Universität Berlin) and Sebastian Conrad (Freie Universität Berlin). In research matters, in particular new projects and the invitation of Fellows, the Board of Directors bases its decisions on recommendations from an international Academic Advisory Board. In the founding phase, the business office with its Academic Coordinator Georges Khalil is temporarily located at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.
The Forum is funded by the Senatsverwaltung of the Land Berlin.
